Embosphere® Microspheres, the most clinically studied round embolic, provides consistent and predictable results for effective prostatic artery embolisation (PAE). PAE is a less invasive option for treating symptomatic Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH).

BPH afflicts more than 50 percent of men age 65 and older, resulting in moderate to severe Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS). After age 50, the prostate gland grows large enough to constrict the urethra, which passes through the prostate gland. For patients, symptoms can include excessive urination at night (nocturia), urinary frequency, urgency, decreased urine flow rates, hesitancy, and incomplete bladder emptying. In some patients, these symptoms interfere with normal sleeping patterns, further reducing their quality of life.

PAE selectively blocks blood flow to the prostate, which reduces the prostate’s volume and reduces urethral stricture. Clinical data have demonstrated that patients achieve durable symptom relief with PAE while avoiding the complications and side effects associated with surgical or energy-based procedures and pharmacotherapy.
